U Belemu u Brazilu (Arena Guilherme Paraense) održan je borilački event UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Anders.

U vrhu fight carda Lyoto Machida je porazio Eryka Andersa podijeljenom odlukom sudaca. Presudilo je iskustvo, kontraški stil i "mačji refleksi", no i mlađi i do tada neporaženi Anders (10-1) je imao svojih trenutaka u oktogonu. Zmaj je u nekoliko situacija bio u problemima, ali nije se radilo o nečemu što ne može preživjeti i nastaviti po svome tijekom 25-minutnog sudara.

Prije toga Valentina Shevchenko je porazila Priscilu Cachoeirom na posebno brutalan način, a za to je dijelom bio zaslužan sudac Mario Yamasaki, koji je pustio borbu da se nastavi iako je u više navrata mogao opravdano uskočiti i prekinuti kažnjavanje u parteru. Shevchenko se na kraju morala poslužiti stražnjim gušenjem i može se reći da je ovime svakako zaslužila napad na pojas muha kategorije. Prvakinja u toj težinskoj klasi je Montano Nicco.

White je Yamasakijevu odluku pusti meč nazvao "odvratnom".
